What is your education or professional background?

MA in Anthropology and MA in Latin American Studies.

What are you studying at UNM? How far along are you in your studies?

Third year student in the graduate program in Ethnology.

How long have you held a fellowship at the CSWR? What kind of work are you doing as a fellow?

I started working at CSWR in 2018 with the Fideicomiso Archivos Plutarco Elías Calles and Fernando Torreblanca Digital Collection. I am currently processing the addition to Rudolfo Anaya’s Collection (MSS 321).

What’s the most interesting part of your work as a fellow?

It’s always inspiring to read how Anaya’s work encouraged Chicano/Hispanic students, writers, and organizations to embrace their cultural heritage in their work.

Have you ever found anything strange, unexpected, or particularly interesting in your work? What was it?

Yes! I found a newspaper clipping about the time Rudolfo Anaya helped a family whose baby was choking.

Red or green?

Green!! But in the winter red chile is good too.
