Fall People and Places Lecture Series Announced

The University of New Mexico Libraries’ Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections (CSWR) is announcing its fall People and Places lecture series lineup.

All lectures in the series are free and open to the public and will be held in the Frank Waters Room in Zimmerman Library from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Talks will be 45 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A.

The evening series features free lectures every month through December by researchers and experts in their respective fields from around the U.S. The lineup includes:

Aug. 28

“Filiming Bernalillo: Dan Lyon’s Visual Entradas in New Mexico”

Gabriel MeleĢndez, University of New Mexico

Sept. 25

“Historic Churches of New Mexico: A Visual Tour”

Frank Graziano, Chamisal, New Mexico, Connecticut College

Oct. 16

“Carl Jung Heads West”

Jay Sherry, Long Island Unversity, New York

Nov. 21

“Headed into the Wind: Aural History in the Southwest”

Jack Loeffler, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Dec. 5

“Redefining Indigenous Electorates in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands from the Sixteenth to Twentieth Centuries”

Maurice Crandall, Dartmouth College, New Hampshire
