The College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences (CULLS) is proud to announce that Amy Jackson, Associate Dean for University Libraries, has been selected as a 2025 Fellow in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Intensive Learning Program (ILP) Task Force. Jackson is among 20 distinguished library professionals chosen for this highly competitive leadership development opportunity.

The ARL Intensive Learning Program is an eight-month hybrid experience designed to explore the operational and strategic aspects of senior leadership roles in research libraries and archives. Fellows engage in activities that enhance their strategic thinking, decision-making skills, and leadership qualities such as integrity, compassion, and collegiality. The program includes participation in the ARL Learning Summit, an association meeting, a research library site visit, monthly educational sessions, career coaching, and self-assessments.

Amy Jackson, prior to her current position of associate dean, served in CULLS as the Director of Learning & Outreach Services, Performing Arts & Digital Arts Librarian, Digital Initiatives Librarian, and Metadata Technician.

Her research interests focus on library outreach to creative practitioners and metadata interoperability for digital content. She has co-authored publications such as Music Research Data Management, Scholarship in the Sandbox, and The Metadata Manual: A Practical Workbook. Jackson holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston and a Master’s degree in Music from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.

The ARL Intensive Learning Program (ILP) Task Force selected the fellows for the 2025 cohort based on recommendations from the ILP Selection Working Group. The ILP is dedicated to developing future senior leaders in research libraries, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate the evolving landscape of academic and research institutions.
