Background Information Tutorial

Overview

Before diving into scholarly sources like peer-reviewed articles, it helps to get a solid overview of your topic. That’s where background information comes in.

This tutorial has two parts:

  1. A short presentation

  2. An interactive tutorial

Both parts together take about 15 minutes to complete.

If your instructor is requiring this tutorial for credit, be sure to save a copy of the certificate of completion at the end of the interactive tutorial (Part 2).
