You can return all library books, including InterLibrary Loan materials, via the book returns located at the following central campus locations:
Please allow three business days for returned items to be cleared from your account.
We recognize the exceptional circumstances of the past few months and will not assess fines for late returns because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I am retiring. Who can help me complete the library part of the Separation Checklist?
Contact our Ask a Librarian service and we will help you through the process. We are available by chat M-F, 9am to 6pm or by email.
Please note that in order to provide our confirmation/signature on the form, we will need to confirm that you have returned any Interlibrary loan and UNM Libraries materials checked out to you. Our book returns are open to help with this process.
What should I do with items such as calculators or keys?
We ask that you do not return equipment such as calculators to library book returns. Please return them to a service desk when our libraries re-open.
Library staff will reach out to everyone with study room keys to make arrangements for their future return.
