Those of you who have worked here for more than a few years might recall that the Library used to have an employee newsletter. The newsletter has had various names and forms since its initial issue. At one point it was called the “GLOB” and then it was known as “LibPeople News.” Initially is was typed (yes, with a typewriter) on paper, and eventually it was sent out electronically. It has been a number of years since we have had a newsletter. But as we move forward and begin to implement our Strategic Plan, with a central emphasis on communication, now is the appropriate time to give the College newsletter another try. As such, I have asked the Dean’s office staff to revive the newsletter under a new name - the “UL&LS Employee Newsletter.”
As an organization, one of our priorities, as recognized in the Strategic Plan, is to establish strong internal communication in order to strengthen relationships and build a sense of community. The newsletter will play an important role in supporting this priority. It will be a means to share important information and keep you up to date on all of the happenings of the College. And it will also provide an opportunity to celebrate our employees. The UL&LS is a great place because of all of the wonderful people who work here, and we would like to celebrate that by recognizing your contributions, your accomplishments, and your talents. It is my hope that the “UL&LS Employee Newsletter” will be a fun and entertaining way to highlight our College and our community.
