Welcome to the Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections, UNM Library

The CENTER FOR SOUTHWEST RESEARCH (CSWR) is the special collections / archives part of the University Library.  It holds original documents, photos, posters, maps, architecture plans, oral histories, music recordings, UNM history, New Mexico related books, rare books, videos, microfilms and more.

This guide is designed to help you locate documents at the CSWR and some in Zimmerman Library.  Plus a few other suggestions.

Sources Are Available for These Topics:

History of New Mexico

Spanish Borderlands - Alaska, California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, etc.

In addition, you can find a few for Spanish relations in North America with England, France, Russia and the United States

We also have collections related to Mexico and Yucatan,as well as Parral, Laredo and San Antonio de Bejar,

as well as some documents for the Caribbean Islands, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and for Central America, Chile, Peru, the Philippines, etc.
