Welcome, Bienvenidos, Hóshdéiiʼ to The Fine Arts and Design Library! 

Here, you will find books on the history, theory, and practice of art​​​​

Come for the books stay for the views! Here, at the top of George Pearl Hall (the Architecture Building), you can scope all of New Mexico's mountain ranges and volcanic peaks or catch some amazing sunsets! 

What else: Group study rooms, computer labs, a smart classroom, scanners, and printers

Laptops, DVDs, headphones, specialty equipment for check out. Macs and PCs loaded with photo and movie editing software. Scanners and lots of seating.

Special collections such as artists' books and other rare publications.

Remember that we also periodically have exhibits and performances here

Other Libraries

As a researcher within the School of Architecture & Planning, you have a wealth of resources available right here at UNM.

  • Zimmerman Library: social sciences and humanities research. Also houses the Indigenous Nations Library Program which works with a number of departments and units across campus, including Community & Regional Planning. The Center for Southwest Research Special Collections and Archives is also housed in Zimmerman.
  • Centennial Science & Engineering Library: engineering, GIS, data-driven research, maps, technology, environmental science and geography resources.

UNM Student Services

  • LGBTQ Resource CenterCommitted to serving the UNM community by providing education, advocacy, and support through events, trainings, and student groups. Founded in 2010 by students, staff, faculty, and community members to create a space where our LGBTQQIA community can not only survive, but thrive. Services include educational programming, computer pods and a library, counseling, HIV testing, safer sex resources, Safe Zone trainings, and more(Located 1919 Las Lomas Blvd NE)

  • Women's Resource CenterProvides a safe/comfortable space to individuals of all genders and all backgrounds. In-Office Services include a book and video library, free counseling services, social work services, computer pods with free printing, universal restroom with free menstrual products, study rooms, free contraception products, daily locker rental, free confidential advocacy, and more.(Located in Mesa Vista Hall)
