Request for proposal: Artwork to Honor Student Employees
The University of New Mexico College of University Libraries and Learning Science (ULLS) is soliciting proposals for a permanent durable art piece installation to commemorate student employee graduates of the College. Funding for student employee recognition programs in the ULLS has been generously provided by long-time supporters Jim and Mary Lois Hulsman.
The art piece will include student names and graduation dates and will be constructed such that it can be easily updated annually with a list of new student graduates. Examples on campus include Rhodes Scholar and Student Athletes GPA displays in the Student Union Atrium.
Artist will receive $750 honorarium and up to $1500 for supplies.
Proposals will be accepted through February 22 and the successful proposal will be announced soon afterwards.
Submission Requirements
Themes: Creativity is encouraged. Proposals for any format, including electronic or projected, are welcome. Book or library themes are encouraged.
The art piece must be wall mounted no more than 7 ft. X 7 ft. in size with no more than 12 ft. of relief.
The piece will be installed on the east side of the Zimmerman Learning Commons.
Eligibility: This call is open to all currently enrolled UNM students (undergraduate or graduate) in good standing as defined by the ASUMN Constitution. An individual student or a team (all members in good standing) may submit a proposal.

Calendar: The piece much be complete and installed by (May 1 2019) and a public unveiling will coincide with the 2019 student graduation ceremony.
Selection Process:
The selection committee will review each submission based on the themes above, artist statement, and artistic quality.
