My mother raised me in Westgate Heights, the southwest corner of Albuquerque. She’s from Carrizozo, New Mexico.
What do you like to do for fun?
Board games with my partner, following current events and entertainment news, Zumba, volleyball, and daily photo shoots with my tuxedo cat, Barney.
What are you reading (or watching or playing or listening to right now?)
N. K. Jemisin’s The Fifth Season on audiobook, and Dear Girls by Ali Wong. Looking forward to Sam Irby’s latest book, Wow, No Thank You, and The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel. Watching the latest seasons of Insecure, Bob’s Burgers, and Vida.
What’s your favorite food?
Always excited for cheese, avocados, and red chile from El Modelo.
What’s your superpower?
Belting out ballads while driving in my car. Watch out, Céline.
What is the first album you ever bought for yourself?
Salt-N-Pepa's Very Necessary on CD.
If you could time travel, where would you go and why?
Studio 54 in the 1970s! I love disco.
If you didn’t work in libraries, what do you think you’d be doing?
I have always been interested in human resources.
