Using LIBROS, our online catalog:

When you’re simply fishing for something good and don’t know what you want, move the window on the left to the term “keyword”. (Hint this is the default, so you probably won’t have to do anything.) Type in some words (this option will search our catalogue for any record with those words in the title, description, subject field.)

Once you find a source or two that look really good, note the SUBJECT links. Click on them or at least write out the terms.You can do a subject search too when you’re browsing. Move the window on the left to the term “subject”. (This option only searches the subject field in the catalogue.)

If you know exactly what you’re looking for, move the window on the left to the term “title”. Type in the title you’re looking for.

If you’re looking for an author, move the window on the left to the term “author”. Type the author’s last name first.

LIBROS is the University of New Mexico University Libraries' online catalog.  It searches all branches for books, journals, microforms, manuscripts, maps, video, audio, and many other materials.
