Finding what you need

Looking for articles on a topic?

Choose the "articles" link from the drop-down menu on this page. Choose a database from the list of science and engineering databases.

Use the Ejournal Finder to check for UNM access to online journal content. In some cases, we may not have the years/volumes of a particular title you need online. Check the catalog (LIBROS) for the call number and location for the paper copy of a journal.

Looking for books?

Use the library's catalog (LIBROS) to search by author, title, or keyword. The "books" link on the drop-down menu for this page will give you more information on finding books at UNM and links to other libraries' catalogs. To borrow a book at Zimmerman, Centennial, Parish, or the Fine Arts and Design Library, bring your Lobo ID card.

Looking for maps, aerial photography, or GIS?

The Map And Geographic Information Center (MAGIC) is located on the lower level of Centennial Library. MAGIC houses an extensive collections of maps. The aerial photography collections is most comprehensive for the Albuquerque area, less so for New Mexico in general, and scarce for other areas. MAGIC provides GIS software and consultation in GIS by appointment. Only a small percentage of MAGIC's collection are in LIBROS, so it's best to consult the staff of MAGIC.

Looking for patent or trademark information?

Centennial Library is the only Patent and Trademark Depository Library in New Mexico. Assistance in performing patent searches is provided by the reference staff and by Jackie Shane, UNM's Patent Librarian. We cannot provide legal assistance!

Looking for industry standards?

Looking for technical reports?

Oh, no, the library still doesn't have what I need!

If you are a student, faculty member, or staff at UNM, you can use the library's Interlibrary Loan service to borrow a book or get a copy of an article from a journal the library doesn't own. There is no charge to you for this service. First-time users will need to set up an account before placing an order.
