Coming Soon: A New Engine Powering the University Libraries’ Searches

The QuickSearch box isn’t going away, but what happens when you click the search button will be changing soon. University Libraries has selected EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) to power searches for books, journal articles, videos and music across a wide range of our physical and online collections. EBSCO, a leading provider of ebooks and research databases, takes advantage of sophisticated indexing of journal content, as well as the rich metadata created by librarians at UNM, to provide relevant results across disciplines and formats.

You can take a first look here.

EDS allows for a variety of options for refining your search, including limiting by source type, specific subjects, or languages. You can also go into your search history and see what searches you’ve already tried, and either re-run those searches, or edit and combine them. Over the coming weeks, we plan to introduce a variety of additional tools and features as well.

Once you’ve had a chance to try it out, please let us know what you think using the feedback link!
